Intxausti Takes Stage 16 of Giro d'Italia 2013

Movistar has won its third stage of this year's Giro d'Italia and its second consecutive stage. Benat Intxausti took a three-up sprint to win the 238-km, medium mountain stage from Valloire, France to Ivrea, Italy in 5:52:48. Tanel Kangert (Astana) finished second, and Przemyslaw Niemiec (Lampre-Merida) finished third. Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) remains the maglia rosa.
Movistar has won its third stage of this year's Giro d'Italia and its second consecutive stage. Visconti Soloes to Victory in Stage 15 of Giro d'Italia 2013

Giovanni Visconti (Movistar) has notched his team's second stage win of this year's Giro d'Italia. The Italian was the solo survivor of a daylong break, and he held off the field to win Stage 15, a mountainous, 149-km ride from Cesana Torinese to the Pantani Memorial on the Col du Galibier in France, in 4:40:48.

Mauro Santambrogio (Vini Fantini-Selle Italia) has won Stage 14 of the Giro d'Italia. Santambrogio followed an attack by maglia rosa Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) on the day's final climb and took a two-up sprint to win the mountainous 180-km ride from Cervere to Bardonecchia in 4:42:55.

Mark Cavendish (Omega Pharma-Quick Step) has been so dominant in the 2013 Giro d'Italia's sprints that today he won a sprint stage that he had not planned to win. The Manx missile was trying to save his legs for the high mountain stages that will take place this weekend, but he took Stage 13, a rolling, 254-km run from Busseto to Cherasco, in 6:09:55.
