Team Omega Pharma-QuickStep's Gianni Meersman powers to stage 1 victory in Tour de Romandie 2013 ahead of RadioShack's Giacomo Nizzolo and Roberto Ferrari of Team Lampre; Team Sky's Chris Froome maintains overall Tour de Romandie lead.

Chris Froome (Sky) has taken the early lead in the Tour of Romandy. The Briton powered through the uphill, 7.45-km time trial course from La Chable to Bruson in 13:15.59. Andrew Talansky (Garmin-Sharp) finished second at 0:06, and Robert Kiserlovski (RadioShack-Leopard) took third at 0:13.
