Froome Wins Criterium du Dauphine Libere; De Marchi Takes Last Stage

Chris Froome (Sky) has won the Criterium du Dauphine Libere 2013. He finished second to Alessandro De Marchi (Cannondale) in the eighth and last stage of the race, a mountainous, 155.5-km ride from Sisteron to Risoul, in 4:28:09. Andrew Talansky (Garmin-Sharp) finished third.

Froome Takes Stage 5 and Overall Lead in Criterium du Dauphine Libere

Chris Froome (Team Sky) has taken the lead in the Dauphine Libere. The Briton surged away from the group of favorites to overtake Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff) and Matthew Busche (RadioShack-Leopard) and win Stage 5, a mountainous, 139-km ride from Gresy-sur-Aix to Valmorel, in 3:28:39. Contador outsprinted Busche for second at 0:04.

Martin Wins Final Stage of Tour de Romandie; Froome Wins Overall

Chris Froome (Sky) has won the Tour of Romandy 2013. The Briton claimed the overall win after Stage 6, a flat, 18.7-km individual time trial in Geneva, in which he finished third. World time trial champion Tony Martin (Omega Pharma-Quick Step) won the stage in 21:07, with Adriano Malori (Lampre-Merida) taking second at 0:15 and Froome finishing third at 0:33.
