Dave's Dogmatic Dribbles - Tour de France - Stage 18

The weirdest thing happened last night.

The weirdest thing happened last night. My wife said my testosterone level was too high and kicked me out! It didn?t help matters when I couldn?t explain my whereabouts while I was off getting a blood transfusion.

I wonder if Discovery or Predictor-Lotto will make any moves today. Does Contador have a big enough lead? Does Levi want to close the gap? Wait a minute; the Pyrenees are over so Levi won?t do anything.

Boogerd shows he?s still in the Tour with his attack. Lefevre, Willems and Casar join him. Now, Merckx decides he wants in on the break and is bridging. Uh oh, Casar hits a dog and takes Willems down with him. If doping wasn?t bad enough for the sport, now we have to deal with kamikaze dogs! Subtract Willems from the lead group but add Merckx. Axel and Michael say they are retiring. They are putting on a good show while earning respect from their peers.

After they gained 17:30 on the peloton, Euskaltel has decided to take over for Discovery and close in on the leaders. I guess Evans, Contador and Leipheimer are content with their places in GC and the podium. Is there rain in the forecast tomorrow?

The four leaders begin their attacks. Casar gets a decent gap but it is closed. He goes off again and nobody is close as he crosses the line in first. The peloton finish looks like reply of yesterday with Boonen winning over Hunter, Zabel and Chavanel.

Everyone in France can feel warm and fuzzy with a deserving win for Casar. Sleep tight.
