Team Milram Signs Belgian Classics Duo

Roy Sentjens and Wim De Vocht strengthen the German ProTour team in the 2010 spring classics.
German Team Milram has added two Belgian classics riders for the 2010 season. 29-year-old Roy Sentjens and 27-year-old Wim De Vocht signed a one-year-contract at the weekend and will be wearing the cyan-blue shirt of Team Milram from next year.

„We are very pleased to have signed these two riders“, says MILRAM manager Gerry van Gerwen. “Both will help us with the future development of our team. Together with Gerald Ciolek, Servais Knaven and Niki Terpstra they will ensure that our performance at the classics will be different to this season. Both Sentjens and De Vocht know the spring races very well and are of course highly motivated for the classics in their home country.”

Roy Sentjens won in 2001 the U23 category of the Ronde van Vlanderen and signed as a professional with Rabobank for the following season. In 2003, he celebrated his biggest triumph to date with a victory at the Belgian semi classic Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. After five years as a professional cyclist with the Dutch ProTour-Team, the Belgian returned home to the ProTour-Team Silence-Lotto in 2007.

Wim De Vocht won the Tour of Flanders in the U23 category for the QuickStep youth team in 2003. Between 2005 and 2008, De Vocht rode for the Belgian ProTour-Team Lotto, during his last year he represented Team Vacansoleil in many European races. Amongst his greatest successes is a second place at the Grand Prix Rik Van Steenbergen and a ninth place in the Belgian semi-classic Omloop Het Volk.
