Sanchez Wins Stage 7 of Criterium du Dauphine Libere 2013

Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel-Euskadi) has won Stage 7 of the Dauphine Libere. The 2008 Olympic road race champion, who rode the Giro d'Italia and the Dauphine Libere to develop form for the Tour de France, outsprinted Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) to win the mountainous, 187.5-km ride from Le Pont de Claix to Superdevoluy in 5:26:14. Richie Porte (Sky) took third at 0:15. Chris Froome (Sky) remains the overall leader.

Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) has won Stage 6 of the Dauphine Libere. He won in his trademark fashion, from a breakaway. The French veteran jumped into a four-man break and then took a four-up sprint to win the hilly, 143-km run from La Lechere-les-Bains to Grenoble in 3:24:13.

Froome Takes Stage 5 and Overall Lead in Criterium du Dauphine Libere

Chris Froome (Team Sky) has taken the lead in the Dauphine Libere. The Briton surged away from the group of favorites to overtake Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff) and Matthew Busche (RadioShack-Leopard) and win Stage 5, a mountainous, 139-km ride from Gresy-sur-Aix to Valmorel, in 3:28:39. Contador outsprinted Busche for second at 0:04.
Chris Froome (Team Sky) has taken the lead in the Dauphine Libere. The world time trial champion dominated the flat, 32.5-km time trial from Villars-les-Dombes to Parc des Oiseaux in 36:55. The Norwegian took a bunch sprint to win the rolling, 167-km ride from Amberieu-en-Bugey to Tarare in 4:03:32.
