Tadej Pogacar Extends Contract
World Champion and Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar has revealed he has extended his contract with UAE Team Emirates through 2030.
Nicknamed “The Cannibal,” because he wins almost every race he participates in, Pogacar has fought his way to no less than 88 victories when counting one-day classics, stages, and general classifications.
The crown jewel of the team is of remarkable importance to UAE Team Emirates and the contract extension will significantly improve the team’s chances of attracting important riders and new talents to the team in future seasons.
Slovenian Pogacar, who joined UAE Team Emirates in 2019, won the general classifications of both this year’s Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, took victories at Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Strade Bianche and Il Lombardia, and recently won the World Championships in Switzerland after a remarkable long solo attack.
Pogacar is very pleased with his contract extension. “I am extremely proud to be extending my time with UAE Team Emirates. The team has been my home for the past five seasons, and I cannot imagine myself riding for any other team,” Pogacar explained to Roadcycling.com.
“I’m very excited about the future and UAE Team Emirates gives be the best chances of fighting for race wins and that is exactly what I intend to do in seasons to come. The best moments of my career are also a testament to the staff, management and teammates who all engage with me to allow me to perform at the best possible level throughout the season,” Pogacar added.
