Being the sweet tooth that I am, I volunteered to review the all natural Stinger Waffles and Energy Chews from Honey Stinger.

The European inspired Stinger Waffles are cookie-like snacks. They are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Sweetness is courtesy of certified organic ingredients including honey. One staff member felt the single serving wrapper wasn't easy to open while riding. As with all Honey Stinger products, their flavors are distinct. The vanilla waffle was the favorite among the staff. One comment was "I feel like I'm eating junk food but the Stinger Waffle is actually nutritious"!

Great taste needs to be backed up by its function of providing a boost of energy. I began a two hour ride feeling somewhat flat. I ate the Honey Stinger waffle and three Honey Stinger energy chews. I definitely was more vibrant within a half hour. The amount of caffeine boost will depend on your body weight and how many chews you eat. It kept me going but wasn't filling. I was hungry afterwards.

On another occasion, a staff member was having the 3pm blahs. I decided to share my sweetness and offered a Stinger Waffle. The staffer was amazed by the flavor and said she felt a natural energy boost about a half hour later. She said she wasn't bouncing off the walls and it was refreshing like waking from a nap.

The same staffer ate the waffle and the Energy Chews the next morning and relayed she was still feeling great mid afternoon. The bee was able to stay away from the hive and work all day!

The Energy Chews had the same distinct flavoring. They were described as combination of DOTS candy, gummi bears, and fruit roll ups. Easy open pouches were labeled with "tear here". It was hard to resist eating the entire bag at once. The chews are also organic. It seems they have more potential for an energy boost based upon their caffeine content.

I can't argue when Honey Stinger says adults love them and they are perfect as a snack anytime. I enjoyed them because of their flavor and they were sweet. Also, there wasn't a buzz or jolt from their use, but rather a more subtle boost.
