Dave's Dogmatic Tour de France Dribbles
Marconi would be proud. The leader of the Tour de France and fellow countryman is using his invention. I heard Marconi even signed Johan’s petition. By the way, I think Nocentini is being respectful of his jersey.
The results from yesterday were changed. It was initially ruled there was a :15 gap between two groups in the peloton at the finish. Leipheimer was in the second group. After he explained to the commissaries that it was Alberto’s fault because he attacked they rescinded the :15 and gave everyone pack time.
Arvesen’s crash yesterday made him a no show this morning. Reports are he broke his collarbone in two places, ouch! Speaking of crashes, Vande Velde goes down with Wiggins. The race is neutralized for a bit. About ten minutes later, two more racers crash. I don’t see any collarbones sticking out so all is good.
While all that was happening, Van Summeren (SIL) and Sapa (LAM) snuck away and have gained 4:45 before that time started to come down. Now we just have to wait for the sprinters to do their thing.
And they do just that. Columbia-HTC ensures that “can’t touch this MC Hammer” gets the victory and will once again be garbed in green. There is literally no way around them. It reminds of the days when Saeco would dominate the lead out for Mr. Mario. I would like to see that match up. But alas, like Cipo, MC may never see Paris.
