Hayden Roulston signs with Cervelo TestTeam
Cervelo TestTeam earlier today announced that it has signed Hayden Roulston from New Zealand.
The twenty-seven year old from Christchurch, New Zealand recently returned from the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a silver medal in the 4000m individual pursuit and a bronze medal as a member of the New Zealand pursuit team.
I'm very pleased to be a part of the Cervelo TestTeam," said Hayden Roulston. "The goals of the team fit perfectly with my own personal objectives for the current season. I'm very happy to be a part of this and excited about the future."
Roulston rode with Cofidis (2003/04) and with Discovery (2005) until a heart condition sidelined him in 2006. However despite the time off he managed to become the New Zealand National Road Race Champion that year. His biggest success to date is as the back-to-back winner of the 2006 and 2007 Tour of Wellington and Tour of Southland.
In 2008 he won the UCI Oceania Tour and also won races in Europe. In addition to road racing he also returned to the track where he won several titles at the New Zealand and Oceania track championships.
