For good reason, the most fascinating and most difficult one-day road race of all is referred to by many fans as the Hell of the North or the Queen of the Classics. Paris-Roubaix is not only the most prestigious race to many Classics specialists, but also for many bike manufacturers. Each year Paris-Roubaix will test any frame, fork and other bicycle component in ways unmatched by any other road race.

This year at Paris-Roubaix, the Pinarello bicycles of Flecha (3rd this year), Cancellara (4th last year), and Baldato of the Fassa Bortolo team were bikes developed specifically for this race in order to provide the best solution for Sunday's Hell of the North. Together with Flecha, Cancellara, and other Fassa Bortolo team members who started Sunday's 103rd edition of Paris-Roubaix, Pinarello created a special model that's a mix between a regular road bike and a cyclocross model.

The new version of the Dogma FP ? dubbed the Dogma FP-Cross - features AK 61 magnesium tubing, weighs 1150 gr. (frame only) like the regular road model, and features a MO.S.T. oversize bottom bracket.

The new bike from Pinarello offered Fassa Bortolo riders better mud clearance by way of a standard (non-ONDA reversed double "S") carbon fibre front fork and rear chainstays derived from Pinarello's cyclocross bike.

The Pinarello DOGMA FP-Cross models for Cancellara, Flecha, and Baldato were equipped with LOOK pedals, Campagnolo Record groups (46-53 for Baldato, 44-53 for Cancellara and Flecha), Campagnolo Neutron low profile wheels, Deda Tre tubulars, and Deda Elementi handlebars with special double-thickness Pinarello bar tape.
