UAE Team Emirates Reveals Roster for Giro d’Italia 2025

UAE Team Emirates has announced its line-up for this year’s Giro d’Italia

UAE Team Emirates has revealed its rider line-up for Giro d’Italia 2025. The first Grand Tour of the season will commence on May 9 and UAE Team Emirates is sending a strong team and has great ambitions for the Giro.

Despite UAE Team Emirates not sending its World Champion Tadej Pogacar to the Giro d’Italia 2025, the team is demonstrating its strong depth and talent by mounting a very strong roster for the important and legendary race.

UAE Team Emirates will be spearheaded by Juan Ayuso and Adam Yates in the Giro. Both team captains have delivered great performances and gained noteworthy results in this season to date. They will both fight to achieve a top result in the general classification.

Ayuso won stage 6 and the general classification of this year’s Tirreno-Adriatico and finished second in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. Adam Yates won this year’s Tour of Oman and delivered consistent performances in Tirreno-Adriatico and Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.

“The Giro is one of the biggest races on the professional calendar and I can’t wait to start the race,” Adam Yates told Roadcycling.com. “I’ve made solid preparations with the team at high altitude, and I am ready to take on the challenge in a race, which we are starting with big goals and ambitions.”

“Juan (Ayuso) and I are motivated to race hard and fight for a good result and we should be able to have a good crack at the general classification and try to defend the title after Tadej Pogacar’s win last year,” Yates explained.

Adam Yates recently extended his contract with UAE Team Emirates through the 2028 season.

“I’m very excited to start my first Giro d’Italia,” Ayuso explained to Roadcycling.com. “For me it is extra special, because it is both a new race for me and because I won the Baby Giro in 2021 while racing for Italian team Colpak before I turned professional, so I have a special connection with Italy.”

“It’s been a great start to the season for me as I have achieved some special victories,” Ayuso continued. “I believe our biggest asset in the race will be the strength of our team as a whole. Primoz Roglic will be our strongest rival, but I am ready for the challenge.”

Australian Jay Vine will offer valuable support for Adam Yates and Juan Ayuso in the mountain stages of Giro d’Italia 2025, while also being given the opportunity to fight for individual stage victories when opportunities arise.

35-year-old Rafal Majka (Poland) will offer his ever-valuable lead-out support for Ayuso and Adam Yates in the mountains. The younger riders in the team will also have the opportunity to benefit and learn from his significant racing experience.
