UAE Team Emirates Announces Line-Up for Tour de France 2025

UAE Team Emirates has revealed its roster for this year’s Tour de France

UAE Team Emirates will be sending a strong line-up to the 2025 Tour de France, which will start in the city of Lille on July 5. The team’s eight-man roster will be formed around defending Tour de France Champion Tadej Pogacar and will combine strong power, valuable experience, and youthful energy.

The 2025 Tour de France will feature 21 stages and will be raced over a total of 3,336 kilometers entirely on French soil, while including six mountain summit finishes. The race will feature two individual time trials of which one will be in flat terrain around Caen and the other will be in the uphill terrain near Peyragudes. The final stage of this year’s Tour de France will include three laps on the Cote de la Butte Montmartre circuit, and this may render the final stage of the race, which is traditionally raced as a parade stage celebrating the race winner, a stage which will feature final attacks on the yellow jersey in the streets of Paris.

Defending Tour de France Champion Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia has already showed great form and delivered several impressive performances this season so far. Pogacar ended the Criterium du Dauphine race on a high note by winning the general classification after having won no less than three stages in the eight-day race. After a short and well-deserved rest, Pogacar’s build-up to the Tour de France continued with high-altitude training in mountain territory.

Supporting Pogacar in his quest for a fourth Tour de France Champion title and a joyful top-spot on the podium in Paris will be Adam Yates, Joao Almeida, Jhonatan Narvaez, Pavel Sivakov, Marc Soler, Nils Politt, and newly crowned Belgian National Champion Tim Wellens.

The team will be racing on the positive energy and high spirits accumulated from the much-admired success in the Criterium du Dauphine and the Tour de Suisse and the UAE Team Emirates line-up appears to possess strong power in both flat terrain and mountain territory with riders always standing by to assist Tadej Pogacar with their best possible performances, as the team features both climbers and rouleurs.

In addition to Pogacar’s three stage victories in Criterium du Dauphine, Joao Almeida also won three stages of the Tour de Suisse, albeit after a stage 1 blunder in nasty weather conditions. Great Britain’s Adam Yates finished twelfth at this year’s Giro d’Italia and will be ready to assist Pogacar in the high mountains. Nils Politt confirmed his fine form with respectable results at this year’s German National Championships, though not claiming any titles. Marc Soler and Ecuadorian National Champion Jhonatan Narvaez are both searching for their peak form, while Tim Wellens was crowned Belgian National Champion last weekend and will be racing on a wave of happiness, which may prove important for team morale.

“I am excited for the Tour de France start, and I am fortunate to have had an almost perfect preparation for this year’s race,” Pogacar explained to Roadcycling.com. “Everything has gone smoothly until now, especially when considering coming off a great altitude camp with my teammates. The vibes in our team give me great confidence for a top result in July.

“Naturally you cannot prepare for every eventuality of the Tour de France, which is an unpredictable race, but that is part of what makes the race so special. I’m expecting the other GC favorites to arrive at the race on a very high level and the first few stages should also be very exciting for fans with their open and aggressive routes. The last week will be iconic with its climbing-intensive and iconic stages. I’ll give it everything I have from the very first whistle,” Pogacar added.
