Cycling's governing body UCI says Team RadioShack-Nissan's Frank Schleck of Luxembourg has tested positive for a banned diuretic during the 2012 Tour de France.
Cycling's governing body UCI says Team RadioShack-Nissan's Frank Schleck of Luxembourg has tested positive for a banned diuretic during the 2012 Tour de France.
The 32-year-old Team RadioShack-Nissan-Trek leader finished third in the Tour de France last year.
UCI says the diuretic Xipamide turned up in an anti-doping test on a sample from Frank Schleck taken on July 14, 2012. The diuretic is classified as a specified substance and does not require a provisional suspension.
A team spokesman had no immediate comment.
The UCI said earlier today that Schleck has the right to request a test of his B sample.
