Tour of
We?re Under Way...
I had a solid start to the Tour of Spain today. Nothing special - just reasonable effort and a mid-field finish. It was good enough for me?for now.
I possibly made a wrong decision by choosing not to use the TT bike and a disc wheel but it seemed like a good idea at the time. The climb was hard for 2km but the downhill and the flat afterward were very fast and I think that I lost a fair bit there. Our TT bikes are pretty heavy and the burden for dragging it up the hill seemed too hard in the warm up. Not to worry though, it?s not like I would have won it anyway.
Tomorrow is a hard finish so I think that it?ll be a group of 40 or so coming to the finish. I don?t think I?ll be there for that once they start attacking up the 6km climb with only 12km from the top to the finish. More than likely I?ll have to wait for the following days to get in amongst it. But ya never know?I?ll try and stay there as long as I can.
One thing is for sure, I?m ready to get this show on the road. I just want to get into it now and get a few days racing under my belt.
