Dave's Dogmatic Dribbles

2006 Tour de France - Stage 8.

2006 Tour de France - Stage 8

I?m feeling confused, disappointed, frustrated, and constipated?ooops,  how did that get in there. I think I forgot to take my laxative this morning. I feel like I can barely dribble today. It?s not only that, the mood just seems dull. Hopefully, someone will liven it up. Other than Leipheimer, nobody else form the USA has guts enough to show their face for an interview. C?mon guys, you need to step up in more ways than one.

Speaking of stepping it up, we now have a break with Zabriskie in it. Where is Discovery? Phonak is showing who?s boss at the front of the peloton. Their only concern is covering Kessler. Then Zabriskie gets stung, literally, by a bee. Jeez, even the French bees don?t like Americans. This can be dangerous, just ask Jonathan Vaughters. For his efforts, Zabriskie picks up bonus time and actually gains a spot in GC. Hey George, are you paying attention?

Near the end, Calzati breaks away for a solo race to the finish. This guy rode another time trial. Ahhh, my heart is warming as he nears the finish and displays his joy. How can a guy with a name like Calzati be French? Hmmm, I wonder if their family milkman was Italian! I am truly happy for Sylvain. Too bad it wasn?t Bastille Day.

France better enjoy this while they can. Things may be different at the end of today when the soccer match is over.

I want everyone to cheer for Italy because my editor, Thomas, has some distorted opinion about France winning!
