Team Barloworld Selects Riders for 100th Milan-San Remo
Pro cycling’s Spring classics begin with the hundredth edition of the legendary Milano-San Remo race on Saturday and Team Barloworld will be with the best teams in the world at the start line of the 298 km race.
Following some aggressive riding during the recent 2009 Tirreno-Adriatico stage race, where Team Barloworld riders were present in many of the key attacks, Team Manager Claudio Corti knows his riders are motivated and on form for Milan-San Remo.
Corti has selected the following riders for Saturday’s race: Diega Caccia, Patrick Calcagni, Felix Cardenas, Gianpaolo Cheula, Marco Corti, Paolo Longo Borghini, Carlo Scognamiglio and South African sprinter Robert Hunter.
Hunter has ridden Milan0-San Remo numerous times and has often been a contender at the finish in San Remo.
Alberto Volpi will be the directeur sportif in the Team Barloworld team car during the race.
