Team Leopard-Trek earlier today revealed the names of the riders who will represent the team in the 2011 Tour de France starting in France on Saturday July 2 and finishing three weeks later in Paris.
Team Leopard-Trek earlier today revealed the names of the riders who will represent the team in the 2011 Tour de France starting in France on Saturday July 2 and finishing three weeks later in Paris.
Andy Schleck and Fränk Schleck will head the team in its first Tour de France. The brothers will be joined by Fabian Cancellara (Sui), Linus Gerdemann (Ger), Maxime Monfort (Fra), Jakob Fuglsang (Den), Jens Voigt (Ger), Stuart O'Grady (Aus) and Joost Posthuma (Ned) on the roads of France.
Hundreds of fans of the Luxembourg-based team had the opportunity to wish the nine bike riders the best of luck when the team left Luxembourg earlier today headed for France. The fans sent them off to France with a big round of applause.
"It is no secret that we go to the Tour de France to try to win it," Team Leopard-Trek sports director Kim Andersen said during the team's Tour de France roster presentation earlier today.
"We have high ambitions for this team. We will target the overall and possibly even win some stages on the way to Paris," Andersen added.
