If you are a cyclist looking for a very solid, airy, cleated shoe, you should consider the Keen Commuter.
I am a female accustomed to wearing male shoes, and the width was perfect. The sole of the shoe is nearly inflexible and firm so your foot doesn't feel like it's wrapping around the pedal when your weight and pressure are applied.
The cinch lacing allows customized fitting around the foot, and I love the classic Keen rubber toe protection. The pull loops are also a plus and make them very easy to pull on/off. It was rather remarkable that while biking, I could barely tell they were there. Even during moments of more aggressive riding, I didn't experience heat, friction, or heal-slip whatsoever.
They are also very comfortable off the bike, whether you're doing a little hiking or simply walking around. And what only a woman would notice, the tread portion of the soles stays very clean and also washes with ease.
I did notice an occasional clicking sound when walking on a hard surface, though very slight and unavoidable due to the cleat plate. Also, I believe some form of adjustable ankle strap (like some of the other Keen sandals have in addition to the front cinch lacing) would be a nice touch.
Overall, this is a great sandal that is rugged yet comfortable that I would recommend to bikers for the road and trail.
