Vuelta a Espana 2010 leader Igor Anton (Team Euskaltel-Euskadi) crashes and and abandons Vuelta.
Overall leader Igor Anton was forced to abandon the Spanish Vuelta after a crash near the end of the mountainous 14th stage won by Joaquin Rodriguez of Spain on Saturday.
Anton crashed about 3.7 miles from the finish line and couldn't return. The overall leader's red jersey was passed on to Vincenzo Nibali of Italy.
Rodriguez won the 111-mile ride that consisted of three mountain climbs, including the finish at Lagos de Covadonga, in 4 hours, 26 minutes, 43 seconds.
Nibali finished 20 seconds behind Rodriguez to emerge as leader with a 4-second advantage over the Euskaltel Euskadi cyclist after the dramatic close.
