Fi'zi:k Microtex Dual: Tape Review
Roadcycling.com reviews the Dual: Tape from Fi'zi:k.
If you're someone who rides over varying surfaces like myself, you should be interested in Fi'zi:k Microtex Dual: handle bar tape.
When I applied the microtex tape to my bars, I was pleased with how easy it was. The tape was supple enough to stretch so you can get an even placement especially with the curves in the drops. I generally have to pull the tape up over and over until I get it right but not so with the microtex dual. The glue was also just sticky enough for the tape to be held firmly in place. The Fizik Microtex Dual Tape is the easiest I've put on.
I rode with the tape numerous times over the harshest road conditions I could find. My first ride was on our local Roubaix style race course, which has 2.5 miles of rough gravel and 1.5 miles of chip sealed roads. The gravel has numerous bumps, which make for a pounding ride. Each time I rode the gravel sections I hit the rough parts intentionally and I'm glad I did. The Fi'zi:k Microtex Dual: Tape dampened the vibration. Needless to say I was impressed.
Each time out I liked the feel of the microtex tape. Although smooth to the touch, the perforated tape has non-slip properties which prevented my hands from slipping off the bars. Also, I didn't use gloves and the tape absorbed the moisture from my sweaty hands while still keeping a comfortable feel.
I recommend the Fi'zi:k Microtex Dual: Tape. It offers great cushion for the hands, is tacky enough so your hands don't slip, absorbs moisture without becoming slippery, and is easy to install. Everything a rider would need in handlebar tape is characteristic of the Fi'zi:k Microtex Dual Tape. If you would like more information about this product, visit www.fizik.it.
