Alberto Contador withdraws from GP de Plouay
Tour de France winner Alberto Contador has withdrawn from Sunday's Grand Prix de Plouay, a UCI Pro-Tour race in western France.
The 26-year-old Spaniard had a cold and was unable to train in the last few days.
"I don't want to be back after the Tour de France without being able to do a proper performance," Contador wrote on his website (www.albertocontador.es) on Thursday. He said he had not yet decided whether to take part in next month's world championships in Switzerland.
