Improving on the interface between a cassette and freehub, SRAM's XD Driver Body allows the use of a 10-tooth cog in place of the lock ring. The cassette threads at the base of the hub body create a stable connection between the two. However, it still uses the same installation tool that SRAM has relied on for years. This permitted the ample, 10-42t gear spread and the elimination of both triple and double drivetrains. The single unit X-Dome open design creates a lightweight, exacting, and strong cassette that's optimized to shed mud. This ensures a consistent and crisp gear selection in conditions ranging from the North West to arid deserts.
