With its ability to climb like cross-country race bike yet rail berms and send side hits on the way down, the Ibis Ripley sits solidly at the top of our list of short-travel trail bikes. Boasting the same long, slack, steep geometry as the Ripley V4, the V4S got some updates that have us pretty stoked. 120mm of responsive DW-Link travel is supported by a Fox Factory DPS shock giving us a ride that is efficient on the uphill so that we can enjoy every technical feature on the descent. A short offset 130mm Fox Factory 34 fork is paired with a 66. 5-degree head-tube angle to maintain the snappy feel that we've come to love, while a revised 55mm chainline swingarm creates room for larger front chainrings and ups the stiffness of the chainstay for more support on the gnarly stuff. The Ibis Ripley XT builds off of the 12-speed Shimano XT drivetrain that has become synonymous with smooth, reliable shifting. The 2-piston XT brakes and 180mm rotors give us the ability to modulate our speed with precision on technical descents without a major weight penalty on the climb. Ibis has spec'd their new Blackbird Send 29er wheelset on the Ripley XT so we can roll over pretty much any obstacle without worrying about getting a ride-ending pinch flat. By keeping the standover height low, Ibis was also able to spec longer Bike Yoke Revive dropper posts on every size so we can get the saddle completely out of the way for full mobility when the trail turns technical. Rounding out this beast of a build is an Ibis HiFi carbon handlebar to dampen trail chatter. The ultra-capable Ibis Ripley XT is ready to rocket up the climbs and rip some rowdy downhills. *Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting...
