Rudy Project Noyz Review
We review the Rudy Project Noyz sunglasses.
I won’t remain silent about the Rudy Project Noyz. Year after year, Rudy Project offers stylish and durable sunglasses. The new for 2009 Noyz is no exception.
The frame design is somewhat subtle with accents such as the logo in the center and colored temple pieces. The frame seems to be the right size for wrap around protection yet is lightweight. As with all Rudy Project sunglasses, the infinitely adjustable nose piece and temple allow for perfect fit and tension. The glasses stayed in place while riding and didn’t interfere with wearing a helmet. Even with a sweaty face, they didn’t slip down my nose.
A common feature from Rudy Project is interchangeable lenses. The Noyz allows just that. I like the channel in the frame that guides the lens into place. The edges of the frame have a shoulder that keeps the lens securely locked into place.
Speaking of lenses, I tested the ImpactX Photochromic Clear which lightens and darkens depending upon light conditions. I’m always impressed with the clarity of Rudy Project lenses and I concur when Rudy Project says they enhance visual acuity. Indoors, the photochromics are nearly clear. Outside, they darken appropriately from grey to black. I found it interesting that the tint lessened when I got inside a vehicle even though it was bright sunlight outside. The lenses obviously responded to the “shade” inside the vehicle. No matter where I was, the glasses quickly adjusted their tint to the changing conditions. They were never too dark or too light. This held true to riding conditions also such as overcast skies or shadowy trails. How convenient to not have to change lenses!
An overlooked feature is lens thickness. I think I’ve had potato chips thicker than lenses on other sunglasses! Not so with Rudy Project as theirs are stout. I feel safer with them protecting my eyes.
Rudy Project has done it again with the new Noyz sunglasses. Even the fabric bag seems improved. Indoors or out, the transition of the photochromic lens isn’t noticeable. They are “no brainer” sunglasses by adjusting automatically to all light conditions. Even better, Rudy Project doesn’t compromise the clarity. See the light and wear Rudy Project’s!
