Dave's Dogmatic Dribbles - Tour de France - Stage 15

Mr. YoYo man is back! Has anyone ever made such and outstanding rebound in two consecutive stages of the Tour? Oh, wait a minute, wasn't there a guy named Floyd who did that?

The good news is Vino is still in the Tour. The bad news is he crashed again. I didn?t see any video but reports are he hit a spectator. Maybe it was the owner of the dog that Burghardt hit in stage 9!

Vino attacks at the base of the first climb. Others are going with him but the gap isn?t significant yet. The break is caught but another attack is launched. This time, twenty five have formed and get away from the peloton. Vino and Hincapie are in the break. Five riders move ahead of the lead group at the start of the toughest climb of the day, the Port de Bales.

This is the action I like to see. Attacks and catches are coming and going. Who?s going to hang on? Who?s getting shelled off the back of the GC group? There?s so much to watch, so little time to write. There?s no action on the part of the GC contenders group as they reach the top of the mountain. Then, Vino attacks the lead group while Popo attacks the GC group. Vino goes again and this time his gap sticks. By the way, we?re in the Pyrenees so expect Leipheimer to do something.

Contador is now sprinting up the mountain and Rasmussen goes with him. It looks like a   replay of yesterday. They catch Hincapie. George is now zooming ahead on the descent. I think he?s too far in front of Contador to do any good.

Mr. YoYo man is back! Has anyone ever made such and outstanding rebound in two consecutive stages of the Tour? Oh, wait a minute, wasn?t there a guy named Floyd who did that? I wonder what Vino?s testosterone level is. I bet his adrenaline level is higher! I think Vino will have tears of joy rather than sadness after winning today. Contador and Rasmussen haven?t cracked yet. I wonder if Discovery is using the ?rope a dope? tactic on Michael.

I guess we?ll have to wait until tomorrow for Levi to show us something in the Pyrenees. Wait, tomorrow is a rest day. I guess we?ll see the same thing anyway. (yawn) I?m feeling sleepy.
