ZeroGoo Dryer Review
Hanging it out to dry is a thing of the past. You can't throw a bladder in the dryer, but now you can bring the dryer to the bladder.
Hanging it out to dry is a thing of the past. You can’t throw a bladder in the dryer, but now you can bring the dryer to the bladder.
We all know what can happen if moisture is remains in your water bladder. Nasty organisms will begin to grow and you end up spending money on a replacement. Simplematter Inc. has made life practical for Camelbak users. After throwing away one too many moldy bladders, founder Trent Ballentine created the ZEROGOO dryer. No need to use brushes, hanger, or other devices. A big plus goes to Trent for making them in the USA.
Like clothing, the old fashion method was hanging a bladder to dry in dead air. The ZEROGOO dryer looks like someone cut the handle and nozzle off a blowdryer. Simply insert the unit into the small or widemouth opening of your Camelbak and it seals itself. Plug it in and the blower inflates the bladder like a balloon. The air is pushed out through the drink tube after you remove the bite valve. The air isn’t heated so no need to worry about anything melting. Simplematter suggests using the ZEROGOO to dry damp cycling shoes.
During my test, I ran the unit about twenty minutes. A few water droplets remained in the bladder. I thought it was dry enough but the bottom was still moist. I have to say the whining of the blower annoyed me. I put it in the other room to bake for another twenty minutes and it was dry.
If you don’t want to watch something drying on a hanger, the ZEROGOO is the way to go. The savings from not having to buy replacement bladders and having non-moldy water is worth the expense. It is simple to use and effective. The instructions have pictures so you don’t even have to read them! It is made in the USA and has a money back guarantee. I can live with that. Look for adapters in the future that fit other manufacturer’s bladders.
